Weekends With AZIT — Experience Everything Korea Has to Offer
If you are spending your weekends as an exchange student in Korea staying inside your dormitory, you are missing out on more than you realize. Korea is a country where centuries-old palaces stand minutes away from theme parks and rooftop cafés, where every season brings an entirely different landscape, and where the best experiences are often found not in travel guides but in the spontaneous decisions made with good company. AZIT's Weekend Event is a program designed to make sure you never waste a weekend in Korea — and more importantly, that you never have to explore it alone.
The Weekend Event is an off-campus activity program held on weekends throughout the semester. Unlike a standard group tour, it is planned and led directly by AZIT's executive team, with the specific goal of giving members a genuine, immersive experience of Korean culture, leisure, history, and daily life. Every destination is chosen with intention, and every outing is structured so that Korean and international members naturally spend time together — traveling side by side, sharing reactions, and building the kind of closeness that is difficult to replicate in a large event setting.
The 2026 spring semester lineup includes a roller skating trip, a visit to Lotte World, a Gyeongbokgung Palace field trip, a movie night, and an ice skating trip, among others. At Gyeongbokgung, members are encouraged to go beyond simply taking photographs — to walk through the palace grounds together and share what the space means to each of them, from the perspective of their own history and culture. At Lotte World, the shared experience of riding attractions and navigating the park together creates an effortless closeness between members. Movie night offers a quieter but equally meaningful opportunity: watching something together and talking about it afterward opens doors to conversations that might never happen in louder, busier settings.
Participation in Weekend Events requires separate registration for each outing, as capacity is limited for each trip. Announcements are made through AZIT's official Instagram @azit_inha and the member group chat, and spots tend to fill up quickly after each post goes live. If you want to secure your place, it is strongly recommended that you turn on notifications so you are among the first to know when registration opens.
Time in Korea moves faster than anyone expects. The places you plan to visit "later" have a way of disappearing into the calendar, and before you know it, departure day arrives with a list of things you never got around to doing.
